Welcome to my psychotherapy practice in 1120 Vienna
I’m a trauma-sensitive psychologist and psychotherapist from the Netherlands based in Vienna. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches with a special affinity for mindfulness and self-compassion.
I have many years of experience offering therapy to expats and migrants with various cultural backgrounds in English. I’ve treated a wide range of issues like depression, anxiety and panic attacks, low self-esteem, etc. I’m LGBTQ+ friendly.
After studying Psychology in Amsterdam I trained in CBT in Berlin and I’m a licensed Psychotherapist in both Germany and Austria.
„The mind is its own place, and in itself
Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.“
- John Milton in Paradise Lost
Process
1) Initial contact: we arrange an appointment by email or telephone.
2) Initial consultation: we get to know each other. I get an idea of the issues you’re facing, and you get an idea of how I work, so you can decide whether you’d like to continue working with me.
3) Before our second session, you visit your GP to obtain a “Bestätigung der ärztlichen Untersuchung bei Inanspruchnahme einer psychotherapeutischen Behandlung” (Confirmation of Medical Examination).
4) At the end of the month or at the start of the following month, you will receive an invoice from me by email. Please submit this to your health insurance provider, along with the “Confirmation of Medical Examination” and proof of payment, e.g. a screenshot of your bank statement showing (only) the transfer you made to me.
5) If we decide together that you need more than ten sessions, we will need to fill in another form for your health insurance provider after around the 6th session. From then on, I will also have to include your diagnosis on your invoices. The reimbursement will remain the same.
Sessions usually take place once a week or every other week. I prefer face-to-face appointments at my practice, but online appointments are also possible.
Costs
Per session (50 min): €110
If you’re insured in Austria, you can get a partial reimbursement, ranging from €33,70 to €50 per session, depending on your health insurance.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Cancellation Policy
Please cancel any agreed sessions that you are unable to attend at least 24 hours before the appointment. If this notice period is not observed, 80% of the agreed fee will be charged. In the event of a no-show without prior notice, the full fee will be charged. This will be billed separately because health insurance doesn’t reimburse cancellation fees.
Professional confidentiality
In order to do my job properly, I record information about patients. Without this, I cannot provide care in a careful and responsible manner. It is also a legal requirement to keep a medical record. In doing so, the practitioner must adhere to professional confidentiality. This means that your information (whether provided in writing or verbally) will be treated as strictly confidential.
I will always discuss with you first any disclosure of information to third parties, such as your GP: the information will only be shared with your consent. Professional confidentiality can only be ‘waived’ in two circumstances: namely, in the event of an imminent risk of suicide and/or a threat to others.
